Roadway / Utility Superintendent, Heavy Civil / NCDOT

An established self perform heavy civil contractor with work across North Carolina and Virginia is hiring a Roadway / Utility Superintendent for heavy night work in the Winston-Salem area. This is a strong opportunity for a Roadway Superintendent, Utility Superintendent or seasoned General Foreman with DOT night work experience who wants a stable employer with a long runway of work. You'll run night shift roadway and underground utility crews on highway, roadway and utility projects, much of it NCDOT work. Triad locals are great, and candidates ready to relocate are welcome.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Run night shift field operations on roadway and utility projects
• Lead roadway, grading and underground utility crews and their foremen
• Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, equipment and material deliveries
• Plan the work and hold the project schedule shift to shift
• Own jobsite safety, toolbox talks and OSHA compliance on every shift
• Set up and manage traffic control and lane closures inside approved night work windows
• Work directly with NCDOT inspectors and project engineers
• Track installed quantities and daily production
• Complete daily reports, crew time and field documentation
• Coordinate handoffs with the project manager and day side of the job

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of heavy civil roadway and/or underground utility experience at the superintendent or senior foreman level
• Proven night work experience on DOT roadway or utility projects
• Working knowledge of grading, storm drainage, water and sewer installation, and paving sequencing
• Solid understanding of work zone traffic control
• Able to read plans and specs and keep accurate quantities
• Ready to work a heavy night schedule
• Valid driver's license
• NCDOT project experience is a plus
• OSHA 30 is a plus
• HCSS HeavyJob or similar field tracking experience is a plus
• Based in the Triad or ready to relocate to the Winston-Salem area
