Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing assessment, planning, interventions, and evaluation for adult clients in a therapeutic environment. This role includes directing and training subordinate nursing personnel while delivering skilled nursing care. The RN works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care, with a focus on mental health, geriatric, or emergency/urgent care settings depending on experience. Strong communication skills, clinical knowledge, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Perform nursing assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
• Provide direct patient care and support to maintain a therapeutic environment.
• Assign work and provide direction and training to subordinate nursing staff.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain knowledge of psychopharmacology and patient rights regarding medical treatment.
• Utilize patient care information systems proficiently.
• Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Montana.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
• Minimum 2 years of direct experience in mental health settings, or 5 years in geriatric care (long-term care, hospice), or 4 years in emergency/urgent care.
• Knowledge of nursing principles, medications, treatment planning, and patient rights.
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• BLS certification.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working with psychiatric inpatient treatment programs.
• Certification in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), if obtained.
• Experience with psychopharmacology and specialized psychiatric nursing techniques.
• Additional specialty certifications such as Psych Tech, CNA, MHT, BHT, or similar.

Special Considerations:

• Shift differentials may be available.
• One meal provided per shift.
• Must have a driver's license, car insurance, and automobile for fieldwork if applicable.
• Ability to work various shifts and accommodate requested time off.
• Must comply with state licensure and facility policies.

Scheduling:

• Shift preferences are considered; specific shifts assigned based on operational needs.
• Work schedule may include day, evening, night, or weekend shifts.
• Travel experience and flexibility in scheduling are required.
