Job Title: Promotions Editor - WSB TV

Position Overview

WSB TV Channel 2, the #1 television station in Atlanta, Georgia is seeking a dedicated and creative video editor and motion designer to join its marketing & creative services team. You'll edit news promotions, image campaigns, and social content while creating motion graphics and branded assets for marketing campaigns across broadcast, streaming, digital, and social platforms. Your work will help shape how one of the country's leading local television brands connects with its audience.

The Promotions Editor works primarily in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Avid Media Composer to turn news stories and station initiatives into polished promotions and marketing content. The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller who can manage multiple projects and collaborate with marketing producers and other stakeholders in a fast-paced local news environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Promotional Editing & Storytelling

• Edit compelling promotional content for daily news, severe weather, investigations, special programming, station branding, and community initiatives.
• Edit image campaigns for broadcast, streaming, social media, digital platforms, and paid marketing in formats suited to each channel.
• Use music, pacing, sound design, and visual storytelling to maximize audience engagement.

Motion Design & Visual Branding

• Design and animate high-quality motion graphics using Adobe After Effects.
• Develop branded graphics, typography, transitions, and promotional assets for television, streaming, web, and social platforms.
• Maintain a consistent and polished WSB-TV look across marketing channels.

Content Creation & Digital Media

• Edit and adapt platform-specific content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and emerging platforms.
• Repurpose broadcast campaigns into social-first content designed to reach and engage more viewers.
• Stay current on creative trends, editing techniques, storytelling styles, and social media best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (continued)

Creative Development & Collaboration

• Collaborate with marketing producers, news leadership, digital teams, on-air talent, photographers, and other stakeholders to develop campaigns that connect with viewers.
• Contribute fresh ideas for station initiatives, ratings periods, major news events, and community campaigns.
• Help bring campaign concepts to life through editing, motion design, and content tailored to each platform.

Asset & Workflow Management

• Organize and maintain project files, graphic templates, media libraries, and creative assets.
• Manage multiple assignments while maintaining high creative standards.
• Ensure deliverables meet technical specifications, brand standards, and platform requirements.
• Prepare and deliver campaign assets to external media partners and agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in video editing, motion design, creative services, broadcast promotion, digital media, or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects, with experience using Avid Media Composer.
• Strong understanding of color correction, audio mixing, visual storytelling, branding, typography, composition, and motion design.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing editing, motion graphics, and creative storytelling.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in local television, news promotion, digital media, agency creative services, or content marketing.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar creative tools.
• Knowledge of sound design and audience engagement best practices.
• Photography, videography, or field production experience for assisting on occasional shoots is a plus.
